Valerie Garner certified for Democratic primary

According to the registrar the primary will cost the city $40,000. The filing fee for each candidate was 2% of a council member’s salary that came to $296.32.
Since I am the publisher, owner of this website I will take a hiatus while being a candidate. In the meantime I will be posting city issues on my GARNER FOR COUNCIL website. My January 4 video announcement is there as well as opinion and commentary on current city issues.
On Tuesday, January 5 in a call from Democratic chair and Commonwealth Attorney Don Caldwell, Valerie Garner, Bill Bestpitch, David Trinkle and Ray Ferris were certified as candidates for the March 2 Democratic primary.
I look forward to representing the citizens of Roanoke City and I am prepared to make hard decisions during these difficult financial times.
