AG Herring and Frosh statement on appeal of preliminary injunction against revised travel ban

Virginia Attorney General Mark R. Herring and Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh issued the following joint statement regarding the Trump administration’s notice of appeal of the preliminary injunction granted in International Refugee Assistance Project et al v. Trump et al., which is challenging the constitutionality of President Trump’s revised travel ban:

“Despite President Trump’s attempts to scale back his Muslim ban, the courts have still seen this harmful, unconstitutional and deeply un-American ban for exactly what it is. We are already collaborating on a brief in opposition to the ban that we plan to file jointly in the Fourth Circuit.”

International Refugee Assistance Project et al v. Trump et al. is a case from the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland that would be appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, Virginia.
