Attorney General’s Office expects health care ruling Monday

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli

Richmond (December 10, 2010) – As is being reported in the media, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, which heard Virginia’s lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the federal health care act, will issue its ruling midday on Monday, December 13.

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli will hold a news conference at his office within two hours of the ruling, after he has had a chance to thoroughly review it. This office will issue another media alert two hours in advance of the news conference.

** We do not know, nor will we speculate on, the direction of the ruling. Neither this office nor the attorney general will comment before the news conference. The attorney general will be available for interviews throughout the day Monday, following the news conference. **
