Sherman Lea Sr. was the only candidate on the ballot but write-in candidate Martin Jeffrey nipped a bit into his totals. It is suspected that some of the write-in numbers went to Dave Trinkle. Lea though received the lions-share at over 82 percent.
The Democrat’s party was held at the Taaza restaurant in Grandin Village. The Democratic candidates arrived as the numbers firmed up.
The surprise came when Anita Price seeking her third term on council came in as the Vice Mayor with 21.67 percent of the vote just eeking out Michelle Dykstra who ended up with the a council seat with 21.31 percent of the vote. Dykstra was just 7
