Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli
Richmond – Presumptive GOP nominee for Governor, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, announced today that Dave Rexrode, former executive director of the state GOP, has joined his campaign as Campaign Manager.
“I am pleased Dave has joined our effort as campaign manager. Dave’s knowledge of the Commonwealth, his work ethic and vast experience with the grassroots here in Virginia is exactly the type of leadership we need to run a successful and multidimensional campaign that will allow us to keep Virginia moving in a positive direction – staying focused on jobs, public safety and real transportation solutions,” said Cuccinelli.
Dave Rexrode added; “I am looking forward to making sure we keep growing our economy, providing more opportunities for all Virginians, and solving the problems facing our Commonwealth by electing Ken Cuccinelli our next Governor. I am honored to be working for a man of principle, someone who you never have to guess where he stands on an issue, and who understands our Commonwealth and our challenges. That is exactly what we need in our next Governor and why I am happy to be part of the team working to make that happen.”
Dave has a long history in Virginia politics running several successful Delegate, State Senate, and Congressional races. After working on the 2004 Presidential campaign Dave went on to serve as National Coalitions Director for the RNC and then as National Coalitions Director for the McCain for President campaign. In 2009 he was Deputy Campaign Manager on the Bob McDonnell for Governor campaign.
Immediately following the McDonnell campaign he became the Executive Director of the Republican Party of Virginia where he helped lead the effort to defeat three incumbent Democratic Congressmen in 2010, increase the Republican majority in the House of Delegates and gain control of the state Senate in 2011, and served as both Executive Director and Victory Director during the 2012 Presidential campaign.
Cuccinelli will attend a fundraising event in Roanoke at the home of Drs. Kevin and Nancy Dye on Friday, January 4.
