Dan Casey at the bat – video

A puzzled look, filled Casey’s eyes, as an interview ensued;

It wasn’t long, until light dawned, that his column was askew.

Dan Casey told a school boy, Virginians love God not gays;

Then with teacher prodding , he took it back today.

After readers kicked him in the balls, and filled his groin with pain;

He pounded out another column , with contrition and remorse the claim.

A teacher taught a lesson; Dan Casey saw the light;

An envelope placed in the mail, will turn a child’s eyes bright.

Somewhere a teacher is confused; somewhere a child shouts;

But there is no joy in Roanoke – Dan Casey has struck out.

Oh, Val,

You card. Nice poem. If the day comes when those of us who address the public quit apologizing (or quit having to), we are failing in our job.

Haha! I’m happy the kid’s teacher at least showed some common sense and said not to include the article since the columnist clearly didn’t.

Dan, when I’m in the poem mood again I’ll think of something for you.

Elena, his last name was irresistible. I could have gone on and on. I thik he got some pressure from the tourism industry too.
