Del. Habeeb appointed to two legislative commissions

Delegate Greg Habeeb

SALEM, VA – Delegate Greg Habeeb (R-Salem) has been appointed to two important Legislative Commissions. The Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, William Howell, made the appointments official in a letter to Delegate Habeeb last week.

Habeeb has been appointed to the Coal & Energy Commission and the Virginia Code Commission.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Habeeb. “I look forward to working hard on these two commissions to help tackle the variety of issues they address on a regular basis.”

The Coal and Energy Commission exists to study all aspects of coal as an energy resource and endeavor to stimulate, encourage, promote, and assist in the development of renewable and alternative energy resources other than petroleum. The Virginia Code Commission was established in 1946 to ensure the proper and efficient codification of Virginia’s statutes and Acts of Assembly.

“Greg will be a great addition to the Virginia Code Commission,” said Speaker William J. Howell (R-Stafford). “Always a team player, his attention to detail and tireless work ethic will be tremendous assets to the commission’s work providing vital services to the Commonwealth, including updates to the code and regulatory processes.”
