Delegate Ben Cline on the lottery warpath again (video)

On the floor of the Virginia House of Delegates in February, 2009 Delegate Ben Cline pleaded for the agency to stop paying for the use of celebrity pictures on lottery advertising. Donald Trump received $250,000 from the lottery for use of his picture according to Delegate Ben Cline R-Rockbridge in 2009. (See video below)

Cline now wants an independent audit of the lottery department. His reason? The lottery used a luxury suite at FedEx Field for its own employees during the Washington Redskins home game. Lottery prize winners reap the valued suites as an extra bonus in its “Redskins Legacy” game.

He beat the same drum Tuesday as he did two years ago. “Lottery revenues should be going to fund education, not to line the pockets of advertising executives or to provide perks for Lottery employees,” said Cline.
