Norman Hudson to run for Sheriff – 5 GOP Candidates for the 17th?

According to his father E. Norman Hudson, his son Norman Hudson who has worked for the Sheriff’s Department for 30 years is planning to run for Sheriff as an Independent. Norman Hudson is the nephew of former Sheriff and Councilman Alvin Hudson. Hudson is a Lieutenant in the Court Division and according to his father Frank Garrett reports to Hudson. Garrett is running for the Democratic nomination as is Joe Bush.

Hudson will have to establish residency in Roanoke City before he can be placed on the ballot. He currently lives in Roanoke County.

First rumored and now substantiated by Adam Boitnott and WDBJ7 it looks like beside Mike Wray former Roanoke County Supervisor we now have  Bill Cleaveland and Businessman Mark Lucas entering the race. Lucas has not quite decided.
