E.W. Jackson says it never was about a political career

After a long, hard campaign for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, we fell short of the votes needed to win the office. However, in spite of the press’ onslaught of lies and exaggerations to paint a caricature to make me unacceptable to many voters; in spite of the lies of my opponent supported by Planned Parenthood and other radical left wing Democrat organizations; in spite of being outspent 3 to 1; we garnered nearly one million votes. That is a million Virginians committed to our cause. It has been the greatest honor to travel and meet with these citizens across the Commonwealth.

I wish to sincerely thank all of the great campaign staff and the army of volunteers who worked so hard.  We must not allow what we have accomplished, the momentum we’ve created and the organization we’ve built to die.

This was never merely a political campaign or about my wanting a political career. Of course I wanted to win and fought hard to do so, but not at the expense of my convictions. This is a movement to restore the foundational principles of our country and commonwealth. I will never stop fighting for the truths upon which this nation was founded. This was about answering a call to fight for the country we love and principles we share and hold dear. This is a fight for freedom, and I will be in this fight as long as I have breath.

In the next four years we are going to see challenges to liberty in Virginia like never before, and we must be ready. We lost a battle, but we have not lost the war. We’ve grown stronger in the fight. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said that “truth crushed to Earth will rise again.” Virginia is where the foundation of this nation began. And it is where it will once again be restored. We are going to turn up the light of freedom.  We are going to continue to spread the vision of “one Nation, under God, invisible, with liberty and justice for all.

We have a great deal of work to do. We have to discredit the so called “mainstream media” which no longer reports news but advocates a leftist agenda. We have defended the Constitution of the U.S. and Virginia against the systematic undermining which this administration has made its trademark, and the new Virginia administration will no doubt continue.

That is why it is so important to pray for and support Mark Obenshain over the next month as he works to confirm his win through a long and difficult recount.

As you can see, I am fired up! I have said repeatedly that I will fight for this country until I breathe my dying breath. I intend to keep my word. I still need your help. Any donation you can make today will be much appreciated.
