Former P.H. Student Recognized by President Obama for Scientific Research

Patrick Henry graduate, Felicia Goodrum has been named one of the top 100 beginning researchers by President Obama. Goodrum is the recipient of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers. This recognition is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on young professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers. The recipient scientists and engineers will receive their awards in the fall at a White House ceremony. Goodrum has also been recognized as a Pew Scholar and she has earned a number of significant grants worth more than a million dollars while working at Princeton and now at the University of Arizona.
