Gen. Eric Shinseki resigns as VA Secretary

shinsekiGeneral Eric Shinseki, Veterans Affairs Secretary offers his resignation to Presidnet Obama at 11:15 a.m. today. President Obama accepts Shinseki’s resignation.

“Everyone out there waiting … make sure they get the help that they need,” says President Obama. “What is the realistic time before they get an appointment.”

Gen. Shensiki said “He was too trusting of some people.” He can’t explain the lack of integrity at the VA centers. “It must be fixed and now.”

Pres Obama voiced confidence in Deputy VA Secretary Sloan Gibson, who will take over as Acting Secretary. He was former CEO of the USO. (Replacement being sought)
