Sen. Tim Kaine
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine released the following statement today on his intent to vote against cloture and final confirmation for the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court:
“After meeting with Judge Gorsuch and reviewing his testimony and past decisions, I’ve observed that he has repeatedly taken an activist approach to cases involving a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her health. The Virginia Police Benevolent Association, a division of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, announced its endorsement of Greg Habeeb for Virginia House of Delegates in the 8th District.
After completing the Virginia Police Benevolent Association screening process, which included active duty law enforcement officers from local jurisdictions and Virginia Executive Director Sean McGowan, the executive committee expressed that Habeeb showed a willingness to maintain an open door policy and continue a dialogue on important issues affecting law enforcement professionals across Virginia.
“I am pleased to have the support of these public servants who have dedicated their lives to the safety and wellbeing of our communities and children,” said Habeeb.
The Virginia Police Benevolent Association represents over 2,000 law enforcement professionals across the state. The organization promotes updating the law enforcement profession, improving benefits, and encourages recognition of the law enforcement profession across the state.
