Letter to Editor: Vote for Abraham for Virginia 7th District House of Delegates

Michael Abraham

Michael Abraham candidate for the 7th District House of Delegates

Every time I leave my home or return again I fear for my life. My driveway runs under an Interstate 81 bridge in Pulaski County, and chunks of concrete have been flaking off for years. One hit a woman in the head and injured her seriously in August.

I’ve been crying for attention to this, contacting officials from VDOT, Delegate Nick Rush, and Congressman Morgan Griffith. But my concerns have fallen on deaf ears.

I learned that my bridge is one of 1250 in the state that are considered Structurally Deficient. I also learned that the Virginia General Assembly passed a transportation bill in the last session to provide money to maintain our roads and bridges. Delegate Rush voted against it!

When I heard that Blacksburg businessman and author Michael Abraham was planning to challenge Delegate Rush in the November election, I asked his help. He met with me to offer assistance, cautioning me that he could only be truly effective if he won.

Mr. Abraham is a caring, intelligent man who listened and understood my frustration and concern. He’s not afraid to work for what is right for our District. I’m voting for Michael Abraham on November 5.
