Recession, depression – take two Xanax and call me in the morning.

As a fanatical watcher of CNBC I have reopened the ol’ bomb shelter of the 60s, stocked it with mostly unhealthy vittles, and added several cases of good bourbon. Just knock on the door when all this blows over and whisper the password. Now only you know the password so I’m counting on you. The password phrase is “its safe to come out now” and I’ll need to recognize the voice as that of Steve Liesman, senior economics’ reporter of CNBC Squawk Box fame. Steve is the only economist I trust or at least he plays one on TV.

A quote I like:
It is not the function of our Government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error.
-Justice Robert Houghwout
A funny one or not so funny:
Scientists announced today that they have discovered a cure for apathy. However, they claim no one has shown the slightest interest in it. George Carlin
