Republican 17th HOD Candidates Forum – Mass Meeting Produces Candidate

Thirty-two year old Douglas Walker will be the Republican nominee for Roanoke City Commissioner of Revenue. Walker was nominated at a mass meeting held by the Roanoke City Republican Committee Tuesday evening according to Chair, Adam Boitnott.

Walker will oppose incumbent Commissioner of Revenue, Sherman Holland, a Democrat in the November elections. Holland has come under scrutiny on several occasions. Most recently by Keith Humphrey of WDBJ7 when complaints arose over a perceived large number business license fees going uncollected. The WDBJ7 story is HERE and another is HERE.

For more information on Douglas Walker you can visit his website HERE.
