Sen. Bell asks Sen. Smith to show up for forum

Brandon Bell

So far Bell and Smith have been debating at a distance. Well actually Bell has been debating with Smith who so far has avoided direct confrontation with his Independent opponent. Sen. Smith is using the “ignore your opponent” campaign tactic. Whether this is a “winning” strategy for Smith only time will tell. Bell has prodded Smith just about as much as he can at this point. Visit the facebook page here: Ralph Smith Don’t Live Here

Senator Bell released the following statement today:

My opponent Ralph Smith has spent the entirety of this campaign hiding from the voters, ignoring questions about his failed record, failing to pay personal property taxes and lying about living in the 19th Senate District. By refusing to answer for his actions, my opponent has shown his cowardice as a candidate and an unbelievable level of disrespect for the voters in the 19th District.

Back in September, I challenged my opponent to 5 debates. These debates would have given the voters an opportunity to hear the ideas of both candidates and decide for themselves who is best suited to be their next Senator. Unfortunately my opponent refused to accept this challenge and arrogantly ignores those he seeks to represent.

The voters of the 19th Senate District want to know why Ralph Smith is lying about living in the District. They want to know why he is a tax cheat who has failed to pay his personal property taxes to Roanoke County. The voters want to know why he hasn’t sponsored a single piece of legislation to address our jobs crisis. They want to know why he has never voted for a budget to fund transportation, public safety and education. These are questions that the voters have a right to ask and my opponent has an obligation to answer.

I have specifically challenged my opponent to attend the Montgomery County League of Women Voters Forum on Thursday, October 27th. This is one of the last opportunities we will have to jointly face the voters before November 8th. Ralph Smith needs to stop lying about where he really lives and answer questions about his personal property taxes and his failed record in the VA Senate

Ralph won’t debate Brandon because he has no knowledge of any of the issues facing Virginia.. He would not want nor his handlers to put him in a position of such embarrassment…As Mayor …he never understood the issues facing the City of Roanoke….it was and always be with Ralph …his agenda and the Politics….it’s a shame that from all his time as Mayor there is not one initiative…program or improvement that had his name attached to it….just a legacy of being an obstructionist and political ideologue….
Brandon will do his homework…he will listen…and he will act in the best interest of all in his District….

Ralph won’t debate Bell because he doesn’t have to. It is always those that are way behind that are dying to debate. Thats why Bell brings up a bogus issue like whether Smith spends enough time at his residence.
And Carder at least he didn’t quit while he was in office. And was smart enough not to just throw money at problems through BS programs. Matter of fact that approach is why America borrows 40% of every nickel it spends today. And as far as his leadership as mayor, would you say the City is better off today than when he was mayor? Not hardly. And when bad laws are being passed it is GOOD to obstruct them.
If Bell will do his homework perhaps he should attack Smith on REAL issues. But he better hurry, his time grows short.

Ralph Smith was at the Retired Teachers’ forum today. Where was Brandon Bell? He was the ONLY candidate for the General Assembly who didn’t show–and he says he’s for education? Thanks for nothing, Brandon!

Ralph would have a special reason to attend an education forum. They were probably teaching him how to read.

Oh he can read.and so will you ..results.Bell will get slaughtered..The only place he has any traction is with the left wing press and blogs. In the real world he doesn’t have a prayer.

Retired Teacher,

Bell was not invited … I doubt such a forum was even held.

Jack…The sad truth is Ralph is a functional illiterate….not graduating from High School….ask the City Clerk that would have to meet with him prior to every City Council Meeting for hours… to “Walk” him through the Agenda and come up with his “Script” and rehearse the meeting…..he couldn’t read and comprehend…..this is no secret…

So what if he didn’t graduate from high school. Hell I was expelled and went on to get a GED before my classmates graduated and attended Tulane University.
Well apparantly Smith is functional enough to be a very successful buisnessman, mayor who could have won reelection and representative in Richmond. He will more that likely get reelected despite Bells pathetic effort to discredit him. And Carder you quit Council did a horrible job with DRI and even even quit that. A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits. Smith is far more accomplished and a better man than you are. You are a functional jack off..OK Valerie..thats my turn at a “dirty word” you promised me.

Hey Jack, I am surprised Ralph hasn’t invited you to be in his TV ads. I am sure you are just the colorful character he is looking for!
