The Park on Salem Ave.
Saturday night December 28 The Park at 615 Salem Avenue reopens with a new owner, new management and renovated interior.
The undisclosed new owner has Billy, previously the bartender, as the new manager.
The owner just received its beer license Thursday or would have opened sooner.
The Park had operated for over 30 years and catered to the gay community. This will not change. The hours at Saturday’s reopening are from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. There will be DJ music and drag shows. The shows have been practicing as they awaited the beer license.
The previous owner who leased the building fell on hard financial times and closed in September 2013. The new owner purchased the building in November for $167,700 according to public records.
The new owner hopes the renovations will draw in old and new patrons and a broad clientele. The interior has totally been revamped.
The Park has and will continue to offer a place for the LGBT community to meet in comfort. It will continue to grow and expand its heterosexual clientele as it did in the past.
