Troubadour roasts councilwoman at Reagan Dinner

Councilwoman Gwen Mason

The troubadour paid a satirical visit to the Reagan Dinner  fundraiser Saturday night. The headliner was Lt. Governor Bill Bolling but Steve Mabry stole the show with his troubadour roast of Gwen Mason.

The Roanoke city Councilwoman ran for retiring William Fralin’s seat for the 17th District against Republican Bill Cleaveland. Cleaveland won handily and Mabry his campaign manager could not resist.

Introducing the clip Mabry referred to Mason as a liberal activist and Democrat by DNA. “She actually worked for Hillary Clinton,” quipped Mabry. He said during the campaign however “she aligned herself with everything that Bill Cleaveland stood for … to convince us of how conservative she was.”

What is stranger thought several Republicans was that Mason is supporting Ray Ferris running for city council as a Democrat. Ferris hosted a fundraiser for Cleaveland with contributions totaling $500. Ferris voted in the Republican primary where Cleaveland prevailed over the other four Republicans vying for the nomination.

The troubadour just happened to come by so listen to him here ….
