Video – 2008 Citizen of the Year

Estelle McCadden, 82, was honored for her commitment to Roanoke’s neighborhoods at a reception for Roanoke City volunteers on November 19th. Estelle has been a neighborhood advocate and activist, and currently serves as the President of her neighborhood’s organization, the Melrose-Rugby Neighborhood Forum, Inc. which she co-founded in the early 1990’s. She also helped to organize and presently co-chairs Roanoke’s Presidents’ Council. She is also on the Board of Directors for Neighborhoods USA (NUSA).
