Ward Armstrong and Danville teacher denounce Mitt Romney’s behind-closed-doors comments

Roanoke, Va. – Today, Former Minority Leader Ward Armstrong and retired Danville Teacher Crystal Gregory will hold a press call to discuss Mitt Romney’s remarks at a closed-doors fundraiser, where he stated that 47% of Americans view themselves as “victims,” don’t pay their taxes, feel entitled to handouts, and are unwilling to take “personal responsibility” for their lives.

In his remarks, Romney stated: “All right, there are 47% who are with [President Obama], who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care of them, who believe that they are entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing, to you name it…[M]y job is not to worry about those people…I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”
