will.i.am Stumps for Terry McAuliffe – Video

According to various sources the crowds were thin for will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas in Richmond and Hampton Roads. Roanoke was not a recipient of the events with the rock star. Last year will.i.am produced the video ‘Yes We Can’ backing Barack Obama. It proved to be a big hit for the Obama campaign. McAuliffe seeks to capitalize on that momentum and is running heavily on the “change with big ideas” theme.

Tracking the three candidates vying for the Democratic nomination (Craigh Deeds, Brian Moran, and Terry McAuliffe) Roanoke is left out of the loop for most of their events. Perhaps the less then large crowd that came downtown to see former President Clinton stump for McAuliffe made them think twice about coming to Roanoke. Let’s face it Roanoke is somewhat apathetic when it comes to elections. The Roanoke Metro area is not heavily Democratic. The City, however, goes Democratic in elections. With as close as the polls have the three candidates a few Roanoke City votes just might make a difference – so come on down and talk to the Roanokers. We’ll pay attention – we promise, maybe.  Anyone have thoughts on this?
